Join Us

Scouts is the UK’s biggest mixed youth organisation. We change lives by offering fun and challenging activities, unique experiences, everyday adventure and the chance to help others so that we make a positive impact in communities.

There are many ways you can kick-start your adventure, as a young person, parent or adult volunteer. Our volunteers get involved on their terms and not all roles involve working with young people.

Young People

Ready to begin your adventure?

We have four sections you can join, depending on your age: Squirrels (4-6 yrs), Beavers (6-8 yrs), Cubs (8-10.5 yrs) and Scouts (10.5-14 yrs)

The activities and opportunities vary but what is the same is that each will empower you to make friends, learn skills and try new things.

Adult Volunteers

Week by week, our volunteers empower our young people to learn new skills, make new friends and stand on their own two feet.  They shape young people’s lives for the better, and find out a whole lot about themselves in the process, too.

The opportunities to volunteer with us are flexible. Think of something you’d like to do and chances are it’s just what we require.

Parents

Want your child to experience the fun, friendship and adventure of Scouting? You’re not alone. As well as the chance to take part in a range of exciting activities, scouts learn other skills as well. A recent study showed that 87% of young people said that Scouting helped them to contribute to their communities as active citizens.

There’s lot’s of ways you as a parent can be involved; for example helping out on a parent rota, being a trustee, driving a minibus, helping with maintenance or many other tasks!

Please speak to your young person’s Leaders for more information.
